The new year has brought wind, snow and freezing temperatures out here on Canada's West Coast. The winter light is so beautiful and as Santa brought a new camera for Christmas, I have been having great fun photographing my table of found natural materials..... I can't stop myself... this is my winter inspirational table, most of the plants have dried and lost their brilliance. The following drawings of echinacea have hints of last summer's colour and their lightness and movement have dried in mid flight. The artichoke flowers are studies I drew last Oct. when the stunning purple caught my eye at the Trout Lake Farmer's market. I am so excited that as the seasons moves forward, newly found objects will change in colour and texture, I won't be able to keep up with myself and the desire to draw everything I gather.
